Which membership is right for you?
Joining is free. Only the person who starts a room needs a membership. Anyone you invite talks to you at full features, free.
Do my things follow me between ? Your membership does: sign in on any device and your status, Member Passes and codes are all there. Your account holds the details you gave when you registered, stored encrypted, and, only if you switch it on, the name and photo you use in rooms, so they are there on your next phone too. Switch them off and they are deleted from ChimeChat.

Not your phone or your computer itself, but the browser you are using on it.
Chrome and Safari on the same laptop count as two. A private or incognito window is another. Your phone's browser is another again.
Each one keeps its own sign-in and settings, and knows nothing about the others on its own. That is why signing in on your phone does not sign you in on your laptop. With a membership, you can choose to have your display name and photo follow you when you sign in.
