This Billing Policy covers trials, renewals, cancellation, and refunds for paid ChimeChat memberships. Purchases are processed by our merchant of record (the seller of record); this Policy is applied through its systems, and its checkout terms also apply.
New memberships begin with a 7-day free trial. A payment method is collected at signup but not charged until the trial ends. Cancel any time before the trial ends — via the customer portal linked in your membership — and you will not be charged.
If this is your first paid period ever on ChimeChat (monthly or annual), you may request a full refund of that first charge within 14 days of the charge date, for any reason. The guarantee applies once per person, not once per subscription attempt.
3.1 Memberships renew automatically until canceled. You can cancel at any time in the customer portal — the same place you subscribed, with no retention hurdles.
3.2 Cancellation stops future renewals. Your membership remains active until the end of the period already paid for, then lapses.
3.3 Outside the Section 2 guarantee, we do not refund the remainder of a partially used period, except (a) as required by applicable law, or (b) as provided in Sections 4–5.
3.4 Renewal price changes: if the price of your plan increases, you will be notified in advance of the renewal that applies it, and the change takes effect only at that renewal. If a renewal is charged at an increased price without the required advance notice, we will refund that renewal on request.
We refund promptly and in full: duplicate charges; charges after a completed cancellation; charges resulting from our error or our payment partner's; and charges for a period in which the Service was materially unavailable for an extended time due to a failure on our side — we will be reasonable about what that means.
Discounted or founding-member pricing follows this Policy like any other charge. Where a promotion's stated terms differ, the promotion's terms control. Canceling a founding plan ends its locked pricing; we cannot restore a lapsed founding rate.
Refunds exist to remove risk from trying ChimeChat, not to make membership free. We may decline refunds beyond those required by law where we see abuse — for example, repeated subscribe-refund cycles — and memberships terminated for grave violations of the Terms are not entitled to refunds except where the law requires otherwise.
Request via the customer portal, or through the support contact published on this page, identifying the charge concerned. Approved refunds are issued by the merchant of record to the original payment method, typically within 5–10 business days. We may ask only what is necessary to locate the charge; because ChimeChat stores no conversation data, no refund request will ever require or involve your message content — we could not look at it if we wanted to.
Nothing in this Policy limits rights you have under applicable law. If you believe a charge is wrong, we ask that you contact us or the merchant of record before disputing with your card issuer — it is almost always faster — but this is a request, not a condition of your rights.
Changes are posted on this page with a new version and effective date; material changes apply from your next renewal, not retroactively. Contact: Vaultcast, Inc., Los Angeles, California — see the footer of this page.
